{"id":2456,"date":"2024-01-23T22:27:52","date_gmt":"2024-01-24T06:27:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/k0244.site.kiwanis.org\/?page_id=2456"},"modified":"2025-10-25T21:35:33","modified_gmt":"2025-10-26T05:35:33","slug":"division-history-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/k0244.site.kiwanis.org\/?page_id=2456","title":{"rendered":"Division History"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-white-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-aa44a9e7fb652ab254e6d159c96be0ff\">x<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/portalbuzzuserfiles.s3.amazonaws.com\/ou-690\/userfiles\/images\/ki_california-nevada-hawaii-division44_bluegold.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:400px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-46bf3124f4a586c724bcf279cdd346d4\"><em>When one wants to look at the history of Division 44 which was organized in 1974, you must look back further to Division 7.&nbsp; That Division 7 was spun off from Zone 7 back in 1925.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-8a9f59fe8246a685b189f8110ce2bd11\"><em>After the spin-off from Division 7, Division 44 has flourished.&nbsp; It grew to 16 Kiwanis Clubs.  Since 1974 until 2024 there have been 51 terms of office for the Lt. Governors.&nbsp; Because some Lt. Governors served multiple terms there have been 45 Kiwanians who has stepped forward to serve.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-73b5a9f6f8408bd4ca463d397422c8b4\"><em>Kiwanis International in 1987 opened the doors of membership to women.&nbsp; The most recent compilation of Kiwanis membership shows 76% men and 24% women.&nbsp; Division 44 has had nine female Lt. Governors: Muriel Brounstein \/ Folsom 1993-1994; Karen Borman \/ Carmichael 2009-2010; Kathleen Ross \/ Granite Bay 2014-2015; Lori Warden \/ Placerville 2015-2016; Beth Roberts \/ Lincoln Foothills 2018-2019, Donna Judah \/ Lincoln 2021-2022, Gail Cirata \/ STAR El Dorado Hills 2022-2023, <em>Charlayne Bowman \/ Folsom Lake 2023-2024<\/em><\/em> \/ <em><em>Sophie Cabrera \/ Placerville<\/em><\/em> 2025-2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-e71695597ae67e372ae76ff6fe7b1d0e\">Seventeen<em>&nbsp;Kiwanis Club have provided Lt. Governors to serve.&nbsp; The Top 3 Clubs are: the&nbsp;Kiwanis Club of Sacramento-Suburban&nbsp;with eight; the&nbsp;Kiwanis Club of Citrus Heights&nbsp;with seven; and the&nbsp;Kiwanis Club of Carmichael&nbsp;with six.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-7d3ff73a0d37cf234dc8bf88521eea81\"><em>Division 7 currently has 12 Kiwanis Clubs: Davis, Dixon, East Sacramento-Midtown, Galt, Greater Sacramento, Laguna Elk-Grove, Marysville, Winters, Woodland, Yuba City, Yuba City-Early Risers, Yuba-Sutter Supper Club<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-c3b6dfd1707ca776e89a8d82e75b905f\"><em>Currently Division 44 has 14 Clubs:&nbsp; Kiwanis Clubs of: Auburn; Carmichael; Citrus Heights; Folsom Lake; Gold Country; Lincoln; Lincoln Foothills; Placerville; Rancho Cordova; Rancho Murieta; Roseville; Sacramento Suburban, Orangevale-Fair Oaks, STAR El Dorado Hills.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-6d8fe925e8c8274a8c12f8eae11d3f49\"><em>A Lt. Governor must visit each club at least three times:&nbsp;1&nbsp;&#8211;&nbsp;Introduction before becoming Lt. Governor;&nbsp;2&nbsp;&#8211;&nbsp;A Club Meeting while a Lt. Governor; and&nbsp;3 &#8211; A Board Meeting while a Lt.
